Not quite a TFI® Friday 15th Aug 2014

No reason yet to cleanse your palate in preparation for identifying wine in the famous guess the wine competition ™and please just have your tea as there are no FREE nibbles© to scoff. No need for Dod to prepare just yet. Its just a matter of balance. Good…got most of them in! Have you paid your sub yet? If you are a player have you got your kit sponsor money yet? Money money money! If you are not in either category…send us your spare dosh anyway!

Rugby update is the purpose of this little message.
The game v Heriots last Sat at St. Andrews went well and the boys finished strong after a tentative start. We scored 7 tries to their 8 with only a couple of points in it. We were as short as they were with 16 players unavailable. Looking good though and Coach Robbo pleased with progress. This week Sat 16th it will be a bit more demanding against a committed B/Muir at Meggetland. We have a very good representation of last year’s High School of Dundee 1sts making their claim for inclusion which is great for the future.
The following Sat 23rd Aug we have Falkirk visiting to complete our preparation for the season. This is a full game at Mayfield with a 3pm KO and we would anticipate a large turnout. Admission for ALL is FREE with a 10% discount for cash! Clubhouse will be open from 1pm and a wine and cheese board mini Lunch Club is available for only £5. Just tell me if you are coming so we know how many bottles of Chateaux Lafite to open. It can be £800 per bottle! (NB other wines may be substituted)
The following Sat 30th sees us start the serious bit of the season in a Cup game away to Kirkcaldy. Wellies while not compulsory don’t take up much space! Just saying.
The 1st league game is 6th Sept with newly promoted Marr RFC visiting Mayfield and the first Lunch Club with a special deal available. Ron McHoul the man to book you in. Ron Mchoul (
So Club looking good and still a few opportunities to help run the Club. Always space in the tent doing what you want in an outward direction rather than being on the outside and doing the reverse!
NB. First TFI proper is Friday 29th August. Make it your regular stop off.

Colin Robertson – “The Heriots game will be 3 sessions of 30 minutes and will be a real test against the Scottish Cup champions. This is a further opportunity for a number of our players to put their hand up as we develop our squad through tough pre season encounters.”
