GHA 12-38 Dundee High

Post match reaction from Head Coach, Colin Robertson

“Having cleared a number of injuries, this was are best performance of the season. To score 5 tries to 1 against the second top side away from home shows the momentum we had in the game. Our attack in the first half was top drawer and we were very disappointed not to have scored two more tries, we played at a pace and intensity that GHA struggled with and we attacked with real variety. The second half saw a shell-shocked GHA raise their efforts and we had to defend for long periods. We did this with real character and commitment and the leaked try came from our error.
The first half was our best attacking effort of the season and the second half was our beat defensive effort of the season and we scored two second half tries. Darrel Russell was the man of the match closely followed by a fine display by our half backs Andy Dymock and Harry Millar, winger Matt O’Sullivan and Duncan Leese returning from injury.

This young team will take huge confidence from this performance which is a marker for the three league games up to Christmas. The Marr game this week was a match I had down as one of our toughest away tests.”

TFI Friday 28th Nov 2014

The bar will open on Friday at 5.07pm which is a minute later than usual. There is a good reason for this…which just escapes me just now. But….yes FREE nibbles on the bar and after last week’s Tapas extravaganza will be a hard act to follow. Guess the wine will be dependent on divine intervention…. Dod willing! Havnt used that for a few weeks.

Rugby this Sat is twin tracked with both teams off to GHA with both of their teams doing well in their respective leagues it will be good to bring some points back to Dundee.

This week in history. In 1947 UN partitions Israel. In 1045AD Pope Urban 2nd orders the 1st “Holy Crusade” to reclaim the Holy Land with the rallying call “Deus Vult” or “God wills it! Any of this sound familiar?

Banks at it again…….speechless….nearly!

Plebgate. Andrew Mitchell did call the policeman “Toby” an “fn pleb” and the cop didn’t really know what he meant said the judge. Well he wouldn’t would he! So that’s that….probably at last.

This week in history 1945 (68.5% of our membership will remember personally) the Nuremberg trials began. The odd one still being prosecuted! No not our members…. the Nazis!!

This week Julien Blanc was denied a visa to visit the UK and talk about pick-up lines. They were deemed A. Too effective or B. Threatened the countries morals. A hastily arranged alternative has been organised in the Fish by a local expert for 10pm at the end of the bar. Please don’t try these techniques at home! There will be a small charge of a Bacardi and Diet Coke with a slice of orange.

If you are contemplating Xmas shopping…..(ED comment deemed inappropriate has been deleted)

Whatever you are doing have a good weekend.

Currie 29-12 Dundee High – Post match reaction from Head Coach, Colin Robertson

“This was a decent performance against an experienced Currie side full of big strong ball carriers in key positions. We had 10 players under 21 in the starting team which is great for the club and we had to play players out of positions due to injured or players unavailable. Jonny Petty again impressed playing back in the centre and Steve Longwell did well with his first game back after 5 weeks out.

Unfortunately, we missed a few kicks at goal at key game moments which would have narrowed the score.”
