TFI – Friday 31st August 2018

So here we go again. How much more enjoyment can you manage? It’s the resumption of TFI Fridays™. We will have FREE nibbles© scattered randomly along the bar for your delectation. If you would like to contribute something expensive, please just bring it along with you. Please no more fillet steak! There will be a wine to taste and guess what it is. Red was a popular answer last season! There is no prize but bragging rights are available. Please also note that TFI Friday 7th Sept we are planning a tasting of wines by famous wine importers of Broughty Ferry, the wine emporium McNicoll and Cairnie. This to decide what wine we will serve at the Lunch Clubs this season. Featuring wine expert and Rugby connoisseur Euan McNicoll. Come help us decide. Its sort of democracy in action!

Rugby – The first TFI Friday is always the day before our first league games and this one is no different. Sat sees Dundee High Rugby travel to Troon to play Marr RFC who were in the Premiership last term. So an easy start and a pleasant bus journey in prospect! The Dundee Titans travel to “Embra” to take on Smellies 2nds. Dundee Morgan play Crieff RFC away. Having put Montrose to the sword on Sat past in the Cup at Fortress Mayfield 62 – 10 they will hope to continue the momentum. Good luck and best wishes to all the players. All fixtures KO at 3pm.

Dundee Morgan 62 – 10 Montrose RFC

Great result and a good performance. Plenty support on the sidelines from a Mayfield crowd. Many of the Titans and firsts stayed on to give their vocal support after their training match. Also great to see an ex international world player of the year and Scottish Captain Derek Black standing with David Leslie! Maybe that should be the other way round?? Many other old friendships rekindled on a historic day at Mayfield. The new shorts with a Stag and the Crown evidence that Rugby in Dundee is changing. Come and be part of it!
