The club was very sorry to learn of the passing of Neil Fenwick earlier this week. Neil served as Vice President of the club for two years from 2006 to 2008 and was a valued member of the committee for many years before that, his contribution on matters of finance being particularly welcome.
Neil attended Morgan Academy and went on to practise as a Chartered Accountant in Dundee for all his working life.
He lived life to the full (one former President commented that ‘he left nothing out on the pitch!’) and all those who were in his company for any length of time will agree that he was fun to be around. During Neil’s time as the ‘Lunch Club’ supremo (always with a clip-board and smartly, if sometimes eccentrically, dressed) he played a crucial role in maintaining the quality of these events and expanding the range of clientele.
As well as being a stalwart supporter of Dundee High Rugby, Neil was a founder member of the Dundee Collegians RFC (membership limited to 14) which, despite being in existence for over 25 years has yet to lose (or indeed play) a match. His fellow Collegians will miss him greatly, as will we all.
We extend our sincere condolences to Neil’s wife Marjory, to their children Paul and Louise and to all in the family.
(A fuller appreciation, with some personal memories, will appear at a later date.)
