Return of the Mack….. (TFI Friday)

TFI Friday™ 1st Sept 2017

Hope you have all summered well at your castles in far off places or at the Riviera de Costa Broughty Ferry? Well here we go again! Another Rugby season and another season of TFI Fridays. Some might say cynically the weekly get together to talk rubbish and taste an indifferent wine, then argue about which area the cheddar cheese was mass produced! What do you want for a pound?

Sometimes of course we are surprised by the quality and have had on the very odd occasion a fine wine, a grand cru (that’s probably an indication of a good wine) and paired with a sumptuous cheese like an artisan crafted mature Compte eg. I am assured that this week one of the celebrated Hooswifies of Monifieth will cater for the upper end of that spectrum! Then there are the FREE nibbles©! Sometimes contributors surprise us with 3 time baked cheese bites and bacon dried in an oven, drizzled with sweet chilli. Of course, there are always nuts and crisps which brings us back to earth with a proverbial bump!

The bar will open at a default target time of 5.31pm dependant on traffic flow at the junction of Hilltown and Alexander St. We hope you can again support this club initiative for an hour or so most Fridays. Designed to keep you abreast of all things Rugby in Dundee.

Falkirk RFC

RUGBY. Sat 2nd Sept sees our first game of the season v Falkirk RFC at Mayfield and a 3pm KO. The Titans have their first game at Mayfield with also a 3pm KO V Biggar RFC. Lots of new players and we welcome them to Dundee High Rugby. We wish all our players a safe, successful season and please enjoy your time at Mayfield. Dundee Rugby U18’s play their 1st game in tier 3 at Mackie. Good luck guys.

Social news. After the game this Sat there will be a BBQ to feed players and supporters alike. There will be a Beer a Pong competition (no me either!) open to players and invited eejits! Spectating is FREE. Parental discretion advised!

The Dundee Sportsman’s Dinner (25 years old!) is Wed 20th Sept so if you want to go to the Club table at a club discounted price please speak to any competent official or Derek Lawson! Always a great night!

Cowboy stories will feature again in these communications but not this week. (Yeeha!)

Volunteers always needed to join our merry hard working groups at the senior club but also at the Eagles (P1-P7) and Dundee Rugby (S1-U18) come and join us. What can you offer?
