TFI Friday™ 12th Jan 2018

Here we are again all set to enjoy a glass of something at the end of another busy week. Some big decisions to be made including what nibbles shall I bring to the TFI Friday gathering? What shall I wear, and will it clash with anyone else’s dress?J This week we have a new feature and are having a very short quiz starting at 6pm until 6.07.

Not telling what it is based on yet…….as I don’t know but all will be revealed on Friday! We will be tasting a rather nice red for you to guess© and of course there will be FREE nibbles© on the bar. There are no prizes for guessing correctly the grape or indeed winning the quiz but there will be some bragging rights to take away! Bar opens at the new time of 5.33pm because of traffic lights in Perth.

Rugby. Last Sat saw us go to the Borders and win against Selkirk 22-25 Dundee. Always a tricky place to pick up points so well done the guys. This week more Borders opposition in the shape of Kelso Rfc. This wont be easy but there is a feeling of optimism we can do the double over Kelso. Game KO is 2pm at Mayfield.

There is a full lunch club on Sat and we have a few celebrities at a reunion table of players who played for us in the B&I Cup competition 5 years ago. Bring your autograph books that is all!!

This week in history. In 2013 that’s 5 years ago the mighty CROWN played in the British and Irish Cup and enjoyed every minute of it specialy winning a game. The Club won a lot of friends in Wind St in Swansea….which was nice! In 1879 one year before the Rugby Club started, Britain began fighting the Zulus.

This led the following year many Rugby players going to Selkirk and even today they have four of them. In 1949 this week one of the best Presidents in Crown history was born and still looks really fresh today. Described recently as, ”a very stable genius” by……….himself!

Burns Night is Friday 2nd Feb. Price held for another year at £35 includes a half btl wine and a full Burns night experience.

The Great Volunteer event is 2nd March. It’s a wine and cheese thank you and all volunteers and prospective volunteers are very welcome but please rsvp so we know many how to cater for.

Souper Sat 17th March. Watch 3 International games and enjoy a three-course lunch (includes a little wine!) for only £20 in the Clubhouse watching a multi-media extravaganza. It’s a real bargain so book early.

Hope you have a great weekend.
